WIIT Field Trip – National Intellectual Property Rights Coordination Center

  • April 14, 2016
    4:00 pm - 5:00 pm

Join us for a WIIT field trip to the National Intellectual Property Rights Coordination Center on Thursday, April 14 at 4:00pm. IPR Coordination Center’s Trade Enforcement Unit staff will show us the latest in advanced counterfeit products as well as share the IPRC’s work in addressing future trends and challenges on the IP enforcement front. This is an interactive event, so have questions ready to spark a dialogue.

The IPR Center brings together 23 partner agencies, consisting of 19 key federal agencies, Interpol, Europol and the governments of Canada and Mexico to combat IP theft which has been made more complicated by e-commerce and globalization. The Center identifies and ultimately seeks to dismantle criminal organizations involved in producing and distributing counterfeit products; attempts to prevent counterfeit and pirated products from entering U.S. supply chains; and trains domestic and international law enforcement officers to enforce IP laws on the books.

This event is a joint effort from WIIT’s Intellectual Property and Export Promotion and Trade Development Program Sections.
